CHALLENGE:

Challenging layout: Creating two separate seating areas in one large living area. Outdated design style.

Solution:

Re-upholstered existing furniture and added new pieces to help break up the space and create multiple areas in the same room. New textures and colors on some old favorites allowed them to keep their vintage pieces without feeling too heavy or dated. Coffered ceilings were added over one seating area to further separate the spaces, keeping with the family’s personal aesthetic with vintage looking area rugs and dramatic window treatments. The study was also repurposed and converted into a women’s sitting room/office. We lightened up the space by adding lively aviary patterned window panels, dim lighting and solid fabrics to the club chairs for a softer, yet still classic feel.

Aesthetic:

Vintage, eclectic
