CHALLENGE:

Unused seating space and outdated 90’s contemporary style

Solution:

Beginning with the kitchen, the entire space was updated by replacing the cabinets, countertops and adding hardwood floors throughout. The unused eat-in kitchen area was reconfigured to include a large island, adjacent seating and a breakfast nook to better utilize the space. To create harmony with the newly updated kitchen, the adjacent spaces including the living room and foyer were refreshed with new luxurious pieces of furniture, updated light fixtures, window treatments and textiles to create a breezy, relaxed coastal feeling.

The dark, constricted half bath was also revamped by updating the plumbing fixtures, adding more light fixtures and a free-standing sink cabinet to allow for more storage creating an airy and bright space.

Aesthetic:

Contemporary, Transitional

Very happy that I chose Art by Design. She was very helpful with the design and proper layout for a smooth traffic flow. She has a very good eye for dramatic colors flowing from one room to another. Jennifer knows her way around furniture too, letting her clients know what is quality and what is not. After using her in the Troy area, I also used her on my summer home from start to finish. I thought the costs were reasonable for her service. And, yes, I would recommend this company highly!
